A129 IR MODs

My A129 IR 1080p Dashcam Firmware Modifications enhance and improve image quality. Load any MOD or revert back to Official Firmware easily. All MODs tested and verified by DCTeam worldwide. Lens quality vary in focus and alignment. Dash Cams with blurry/soft focus can compensate using Strong Sharpness MODs. Dash Cams with perfect focus benefit using Low or Medium Sharpness MODs. Disable WiFi for best image quality. Higher Bitrate MODs improve image detail and increase MP4 video clip size.

    Hi BChobbyst,
    Official version in viofo's site is 1.0 - it is bugged & generates regular (bigger than 300MB for 3 minute video) file sizes as in normal high bit rate mode (like V1.7 in non IR a129, remember?)

    where can i find 1.01 & what is the change list for this version?

      You are correct, updating all IR MODs now to fix the Low Bitrate Recording clip length with newer v1.01 patch. They are about to release v1.02 with a few surprises. The official A129 IR v1.01 is also in my archive here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1a8c7pX4_6g10oEe1PHlo_JxZSmrf85oK

    Hi. What is the file size difference between medium and large file? MOD-7Eh and MOD-6Eh.

      26 to 27 M/s bitrate file size difference is approx 15MB.

    The A129 Duo IR and non-IR Dashcam official Viofo firmware records at 8 Mbs when WiFi is enabled and 16 Mbs with WiFi disabled. When rear camera is disabled it records at 20 Mbs with WiFi disabled. Firmware v1.02 has very low detail and why I created higher Bitrate MODs. Those using Parking Auto Event Detection Mode must use official Viofo firmware.

    Hi, just bought this as a cheap front and rear dashcam, what setup would you recommend. I have an 256GB sd card, and will be using the rear as a back facing camera not for inside / taxi use etc.

    Nice purchase, the 180 degree rear camera Lens rotation is a great feature, too bad the non-IR camera doesn't include it. As in my IR video the best setup is to disable the IR lamps to eliminate the LED glow off the glass, select Color Mode for exterior view(interior Auto Mode). Try High 28Mb/s Bitrate for excellent detail but notice how fast memory card fills. If using buffered Parking Auto Detection Mode you should only use MOD-PEK or PEL which drops Bitrate to factory 8Mb/s level. If rear window is tinted remove CPL from rear camera for slightly brighter footage.
