  1. If my car is stopped the cigarette charger stays on for about 10 minutes. The cigarette charger turns on as soon as unlocking the doors and stays on for 10 minutes after closing the door. I´m looking for a lower recording refreshrate while parked. As soon as I´m driving, then i need a higher refreshrate. What settings do i need? How?

  2. Using the A129 for Parking Mode protection longer than 10 mins requires continuous power from 3-wire hardwire kit correctly installed to vehicle fusebox. Kit allows Parking Mode to record while ignition is off then automatically switches to normal recording when vehicle is started.
Select Parking Time Lapse 5fps Mode.

  4. Will you be making A129PRO MODS?

  5. The current A129 Pro Duo firmware version 1.1 has some issues with bitrates. Plan to create Pro MODs once baseline code is fixed by Viofo.

    1. Hey BCHobbyist,I own a A129 pro duo and I is just frustrating to use as it is, I need to do some mods,
if you give me some background info I can edit the firmware, test it and then you can review it and publish it on this website.
let me know what you think please

  7. What is the front and rear default video Mbs recordings for the A129 Duo Pro 4k?

  8. Are the firmware sources available anywhere? I would like to try to add a few improvements as well. 2 ideas: (1) when switching to parking mode, check the GPS location of the camera and if it is within a configured range, switch the camera completely off - this would let me switch it off in my garage (2) use some relatively small amount of space for normal mode recordings (10 minutes is more than enough) and use the rest of the space for parking mode recordings - this would let the parking mode recordigns to be kept for longer (from my experience, I discovered car damage only on the next day when it was bright)

    1. suggest sending your mod ideas to Viofo using Service Ticket Requested Feature. Parking Mode Protection extension is probably better handled by lowering res to 1080p 8Mbps continuous recording with 256-512GB microSD card. OR second microSD card specifically for Parking Mode Recordings, but Viofo never asked me before releasing A139.

  9. I'm loving your 6Tm mod on my 119pro. I, too, am waiting on/hoping for mods for my new 129pro. I bought only the front cam.
I like to transfer to disc. I'm converting with ConvertXtodvd7 and it's none too good. I get 9200kb/sec but playback needs an upconverting SD DVD player to get watchable vids. Do you have a recommendation for a better program?

    1. I still use my old A119 Pro 1440p Dashcam MOD-9Tm daily side-by-side with A129 4K Duo soon to be replaced by A139 1440p 3-channel model. The A119 2K Pro has never failed or skipped or caused file corruption unlike the A129 series.

I'm not sure creating DVD auto-play movie supports 26 Mbps video quality, DVD players have limited bitrate. If your TV supports USB drive create MP4 movie using 24-28 Mbps video editing programs eg:Lightworks, Vegas Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro... verify they include high bitrate encoding feature.

Let me know if your A129 beeps twice while recording complex shadow scenes causing clip corruption requiring file repair. Viofo still hasn't solved this very fixable bug in 2 years.

  10. I have an A119 (2K) with a broken lens. I watched your video on how to replace it. I have not been able to find a replacement lens anywhere. I asked at VIOFO but they sold be a discounted A119 v3 instead and ignored my questions about a lens.
Do I have to replace the whole unit incl the sensor or is it possible to just swap out the lens.
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Create Service Ticket from Viofo website to request replacements parts. Its possible they no longer have parts for that 4+ year old dashcam. The original A119 Pro 2K resolution model never really had support. Thats why I used the A129 1080p Lens in my MOD video.

  11. Hi - any firmware MOD for A129 PRO as yet? Appologies if this has already bee dealt with and I have missed it. Thank you

  12. VIOFO A129 Pro 4k Dashcam MODs are all private at the moment since none work reliably with Auto Parking Mode. The 4K Dashcam has great image quality in day light but poor at night in extreme low light. The 4K Sony sensor struggles in low light.

  13. great job, im facing same issue with the VIOFO A129 Duo pro, in low light condition the image is full of noise the iso is so high.

    1. As of Feb 2022 there are no ultra sensitive Low Light 4K sensors used in any VIOFO Dashcams. Tweak the 4K Pro to let more light into Lens at night by removing the CPL and disabling Menu settings which increase motion blur such as WDR (takes 3 fps) and record with 30 fps. Collect 30 & 60 fps clips at night for test, its very noticeable improvement.

  14. Hi, is there any hope to have a mod for A129 Plus to reduce the sharpness a little bit ? Default is just terrible and no option in the menu. Thanks a lot.

  15. The VIOFO A129 Plus 1440p resolution WiFi Dashcam has several issues including Lens, heat and some disappointing Firmware updates which negatively affect overall image quality such as sharpness, brightness and color saturation and hue. This model in nearly 2 years old and still has hardware and software weaknesses.
MODs may start to appear later this year if VIOFO Firmware doesn't improve.
